The Warri Kingdom has concluded a 10-day celebration marking the fifth coronation anniversary of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, with a thanksgiving ceremony attended by sons and daughters of Iwere, guests and friends of the kingdom.
The thanksgiving, which brought the anniversary festivities to a close, offered an opportunity for the people to reflect on the five-year reign of the monarch and express gratitude to God for what they described as blessings, progress, unity and a renewed sense of purpose in the kingdom.
The anniversary celebration featured a rich display of Itsekiri culture and heritage, with communities, families and Itsekiris from the diaspora responding to the Global Homecoming call and returning to the kingdom to identify with their monarch and people.
The gathering also attracted friends and well-wishers of the kingdom, reinforcing the bonds of history, culture and identity that unite the people.
Beyond the festivities, the thanksgiving provided an avenue for the kingdom to acknowledge the journey of the past five years and seek divine guidance for the years ahead.
The people expressed appreciation for the leadership of Ogiame Atuwatse III, while praying for continued wisdom, strength and God’s blessings upon the Olu, the Royal Family and the entire Warri Kingdom.
